By holding a fundraiser for Daily Bread, you'll help ensure that our neighbours experiencing food insecurity across the city can continue to access fresh, nutritious food. 

Here’s why your support is so important right now:

• After they’ve paid for housing, the average food bank client has $9.17 left per day to cover all other expenses – including food – making it impossible for them to stock the recommended supply of provisions for their family. 

• There has been an alarming rise in food bank usage, with  1.45 million visits to Toronto food banks over the past year. This is a 47% increase in visits compared to the year prior.

• Food bank visits this year are 1.5 times greater than the previous record set in 2010 in the aftermath of the 2008 recession.

• For the first time, new clients accessing Toronto food banks outnumbered existing clients, with a 61% increase in new clients compared to the year prior.
